Berkeley county residents will share the joy of reading this winter as One Book Berkeley embarks on its inaugural community reading program. Marley and Me: life and love with the world's worst dog by John Grogan is the title of this year's book. A series of programs and events, sponsored by the Friends of Berkeley County Library in conjunction with the Berkeley County Library, are planned for January and February 2008. |

River of Words (ROW), a non-profit organization, was founded in 1995 by then-US Poet Laureate Robert Hass and writer Pamela Michael. The South Carolina Center for the Book in affiliation with The Library of Congress Center for the Book encourages students to participate in this international poetry and art contest for students in grades K-12.
