ILEAD USA in SC - June Live Session Update

The South Carolina ILEAD USA second live session (held June 22-25, 2015) was more focused and slightly less intense than the March session. The teams have shown tremendous growth. MaKit Work! has secured a partnership with the South Carolina State Library to circulate their maker tech kit after they have completed building it.

MUSC Library Announces New Director

Associate Professor Shannon Jones has recently been named the MUSC Library's new director effective July 1, 2015.  Jones joined the MUSC Library in January 2014 as Assistant Director for Program Development and Resource Integration, and Associate Professor in the Department of Library and Information Science.  She has over 13 years' experience working in academic research and health science libraries including 8 years in management and administration.  Prior to MUSC, Jones was the Associate Director for Research and Education at the Tomkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences at Virginia

National Teen Library Lock-in to be held Friday, July 31

Each year, libraries across the United States invite teens to a locally hosted lock-in on the same night during August for online visits with well-known authors, fun contests, popular crafts, and multi-player games. While each event is sponsored by the participating library, librarians share ideas and expertise to coordinate events that bring teens together across time zones and geographic boundaries.

The 2015 National Teen Library Lock-in will be held Friday, July 31st!
