The South Carolina State Library is pleased to announce the SC Social Media in State Government Summit. The summit will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  The cost is $10.00 and includes lunch. Join us for a day of hearing from colleagues at SC State Government agencies about how to effectively use social media to promote state government, events, programs, and more! These publications provide citizens with crucial information about state government, including statistics, annual accountability reports, and data on a wide variety of topics related to the state.

A Proclamation has been passed by Governor Nikki Haley, which proclaims April as “Certified Public Manager Month” to recognize the professionalism of those trained as certified public managers and the impact their leadership has on the state of South Carolina.  Please take the time this month to celebrate the accomplishments CPM graduates have made to state government agencies and the citizens of South Carolina.

The South Carolina State Agency Social Media Library provides access to federated searching of social media activity from participating South Carolina state agencies.

Social media activity from these state agencies is continually being captured and indexed.

State Library Seeks State Agency Social Media Library Participants

The South Carolina State Library is seeking state government agency participation in the South Carolina State Agency Social Media Library (scsocialmedialibrary.org), which provides public access to social media activity from partner South Carolina state agencies.

The South Carolina State Library is collaborating with ArchiveSocial (archivesocial.com), a social media archiving company based in Durham, NC to create this searchable library.

Did you know that the South Carolina State Library receives copies of the state agency Accountability Reports? These official reports are sent to the General Assembly and copies are provided to the South Carolina State Library. The reports detail how state agencies have used funds allocated by the state legislature, the federal government and/or other sources for the citizens of South Carolina.
