The fourth annual Braille Challenge to be held in South Carolina will take place at the State Library’s Talking Book Services Library on February 2, 2012.

Organized by the Braille Institute, the Braille Challenge is an academic competition designed to motivate blind students to emphasize their study of Braille.   The competition is open to 1st -12th grade students.  Lunch will be provided by Chick-Fil-A and prizes will be awarded.

The South Carolina Regional Braille Challenge is sponsored by: All American Awards, American Council of the Blind, Charleston Chapter, Charleston County School District, Chick-Fil-A Governors House, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Humanware, Inc., National Braille Press, Perkins School for the Blind, Quintex of Ashville, Seedlings,  SC Association for Education & Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER), SC Commission for the Blind, SC Department of Education, SC School for the Deaf and the Blind, SC State Library - Talking Book Services, Top Dot, University of SC –Upstate.
