Please Note: One frequently asked question about our positions involves the state's "job-type" description for PASCAL jobs as “Temporary Grant" positions. This is required for positions that are not funded using state-appropriated funds. PASCAL positions are funded by the membership and the consortium considers this a permanent staff position, with a full state benefits package.

Work is primarily performed from an approved alternate work, or telecommuting, site. Telecommuting is a work arrangement in which selected State employees are allowed to perform the normal duties and responsibilities of their positions, through the use of computers or other telecommunication equipment, at home or at an alternate work location apart from the employee’s usual location of work. The employee may be directed to report to the official work location on a scheduled or an as-needed basis.  The alternate work location must be situated such that the incumbent is able to easily report to the official work location or for travel within South Carolina.
