Job Description

Essential Functions • Plans, promotes, and delivers in-person training events for staff. • Develops and adapts training curriculum for in-person and online classes. • Creates manuals, instructions and handouts for training in written and electronic formats. • Assists in the delivery of existing training activities, such as New Employee Orientation. • Maintains training technology such as digital devices and the Learning Management System. • Develops and implements programs to improve staff training, satisfaction, and retention. • Selects materials for the Professional Collection. • Assists with planning projects as assigned by the Director. • Supervises the daily activities of the Training Assistant. SKILLS • Master’s degree in Library Science from an accredited ALA library school • Outstanding public speaking and interpersonal communication skills • Strong writing and proofreading skills that demonstrate attention to detail • Experience in curriculum/training design, assessment and evaluation • Extensive knowledge of current technology, including digital devices and the Microsoft Office Suite • Ability to engage a diverse staff with tact and a positive attitude • Possession of a valid driver’s license in the state of South Carolina RATE OF PAY: $42,525 minimum Part of the Planning and Training Department

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Library Science or an equivalent graduate degree is required. Experience in public speaking and developing training content is required.
