The Academic Affairs Division has an exciting opportunity available with their team! The Assistant Librarian will provide reference, informational, writing and instructional services to patrons utilizing a variety of traditional and electronic resources under the supervision of the AVP of Learning Services. Provides reference and consultative writing services in a highly networked environment utilizing a variety of print, electronic and internet resources for students and faculty Coordinates, promotes, and delivers library, technology, and student success workshops with prepared print and electronic teaching aids for students and faculty. Plans, analyzes and maintains the campus library operations. This person establishes and maintains strong relationships with the campus administration, faculty and students. Assists patrons at the circulation desk at any time that it becomes necessary in order to ensure efficient service to patrons. Assists with collection development and maintenance decisions. Promotes the goals of the Academic Affairs division and HGTC at large by engaging in teamwork, cooperation, and active support offices within HGTC and performs other duties as assigned by AVP of Learning Services.
Master's in Library Science from an ALA accredited school. Leadership skills and effective written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of online databases and traditional information resources. Requires teaching skills and knowledge bibliographic instruction.
