Job Description

The Content Delivery Librarian is a member of PASCAL’s Content & Services Team and is responsible for developing and coordinating content delivery services in conjunction with our statewide implementation of the Alma/Primo shared library service platform and building on our 13 year old rapid print delivery program, PASCAL Delivers.

The Content & Services team’s major areas of activity include electronic resource licensing, shared print and electronic collection management, resource sharing, and affordable learning. The team is responsible for training, communication and assessment regarding programs and the PASCAL value proposition. The CS team coordinates with PASCAL’s Shared Library Services Program (SLSP) team and member librarians in leveraging the state’s shared Alma-Primo system to support its activities.

Working closely with other team members, the SLSP team, and member librarians, the Content Delivery Librarian will coordinate planning, implementation and management of a redesigned statewide resource sharing program.

PASCAL is a consortium of 56 college and university libraries housed within the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education. PASCAL fosters cooperation on a broad range of issues including shared licensing of electronic resources, universal borrowing, collaborative collection management, affordable learning, and library systems support. Salary: $45,000--$65,000 DOE

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited college or university. Knowledge of academic resource access operations, including print rapid delivery, interlibrary loan, circulation, scan and deliver services. Three years relevant professional experience.

Additional Requirements: Knowledge of discovery of UX in relation to support of access; outstanding oral and written communication skills; strong planning and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively; demonstrated flexibility in adapting to change; ability to work well under pressure; ability to meet deadlines; excellent ability to organize and prioritize competing demands; and ability to travel to meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience managing access and resource sharing services in a large scale academic or consortial environment; excellent analytical skills; program management experience; knowledge or experience with the Alma/Primo Library Service Platform fulfillment functionality; experience in a research-level academic library environment; familiarity with academic library consortia; knowledge of or familiarity with provision of library content or services in one or more of the following areas:

  • electronic resource licensing
  • shared print and electronic collection management
  • affordable learning
  • outreach and assessment.
