Under the immediate supervision of the Library Director, this position is responsible for the development of the Adult Literacy Program, as well as supervising the volunteers in this area of the Library. The position is full-time (37.5 hpw) and is eligible for benefits. Salary depends on experience. The duties of this position include recruiting and working with volunteers to ensure all needs of the department are met (ex. literacy instruction, tutoring, etc.). The Adult Literacy/ESL Coordinator is also responsible for selecting the instructional materials for the program, circulating material for the program, helping in other areas of the Library as needed, etc.
To be eligible for the position, the applicant must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, university, or technical school. Must also have 3 to 5 years experience as a literacy/ESL tutor, and 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience.
