Schedule:
40 hour position – Hours are generally Monday - Friday Including one regular evening per month and other evenings as needed
Salary:
$38,000 minimum per year
Essential Job Functions:
- Plans, organizes, promotes, schedules, and delivers a variety of programs, activities, and training events for staff, including New Employee Orientation
- Maintains the digital devices for staff training, including developing training opportunities and guides
- Responsible for collection development, including selection and weeding for the Professional Collection
- MLS/ALA and experience teaching and developing training content
- Strong commitment to being accessible and open to all staff requests and to delivery of excellent internal and external customer service
- Strong organizational skills and proven ability to complete projects and meet deadlines
- Strong ability to troubleshoot across a variety of operating systems and library resources
- Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment
- Experience with print and electronic research
- Desire and ability to create and implement trainings for all library staff
- Desire and ability to utilize methodology conducive to adult learning needs, including hands-on application of skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of needs and current interests of library staff and library institutions
- Must enjoy working with a multi-generational staff
- Experience and proficiency with current library technology, including digital devices, Internet, research databases, productivity software, and communications applications
- Knowledge of public library principles, procedures, materials, and practices
- Ability to work closely with others or alone
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with library staff, patrons, associates, and external organizations
- Valid driver’s license required
