Essential Job Functions:
Full time entry-level position available for an energetic, team-oriented librarian desiring supervisory experience. Provides library services for children age’s birth through grade 5: plans and presents weekly story times and assesses effectiveness, programs special events, including summer reading program and community outreaches. Assists children and caregivers in use of library resource, provides reference and reader’s advisory services. Serves as assistant branch manager, may supervise paraprofessional staff specializing in children’s and young adult services; compiles statistical reports, performs collection maintenance and weeding.
ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS degree; eligible for or hold South Carolina State Library certification. Must be flexible with the ability to work evenings and weekends.
