Job Description: 

Full-time position. Provide reader’s advisory and information services to patrons of all ages at the Reference Services desk; with guidance from reference librarians, plan and provide in-house programs for adults on a variety of subjects and contribute to outreach to the adult population in the community; maintain assigned shelving area by processing new books, shelf reading, and weeding; prepare forms, flyers, and reports; may write branch newspaper column and/or branch blog about library services; other duties as assigned.

$33,030.40 - $37,169.60 annually depending on qualifications

Must be computer literate and knowledgeable in various computer software and applications; MS Word, MS Excel, MS Publisher, and social media experience a plus.

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree; four (4) years of library or related experience; significant understanding of basic aims and services of libraries. Must be computer literate and knowledgeable in various computer software and applications; MS Word, MS Excel, MS Publisher, and social media experience a plus. Other qualities and abilities needed: initiative; accuracy; tact; ability to exercise good judgment; ability to get along well with others in a professional and approachable manner; high aptitude for library work; significant ability to be flexible and adaptable to assume additional responsibilities as needed to maintain branch operations. Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
