Job Description

LIBRARY DIRECTOR – LIBRARY ADMINISTRATION: Reports to Board of Trustees. Responsible for the operations of multiple libraries throughout Beaufort County, development and implementation of its service programs, and responds effectively to the needs of the community. Manages all library resources and personnel, develops and monitors the budget, assists the Library Board of Trustees with long range planning and policy development and plans, as well as implements overall library goals and objectives.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• A graduate degree in Library/Information Science from a program accredited by the American Library Association (ALA)
• Five (5) years of library supervisory experience to include three years as a director of a multi-branch library system (experience in a library system in South Carolina preferred).
• Eligible for a South Carolina Public Library Certification.
• Eligible for a South Carolina driver’s license.

SALARY: $73,140 to $90,000 annually DOQ
