Colleton County Government is accepting applications for the position of Systems & Technology Services Librarian for the Colleton County Memorial Library. The successful candidate will under limited supervision plan, develop, implement, operate and maintain the Library’s automated systems and services. Will plan, coordinate and conduct technology services throughout the library system. Will also perform managerial duties related to technology services. Will participate in short and long range planning for technology and general library services; will coordinate activities with other library staff and patrons; and will assist patrons in the selection and use of library materials and electronic resources.

Associates degree required (Bachelor’s degree preferred) in computer science or a computer/technical related field, to include instruction in computer software, hardware and operating systems. Must have one to two years training or experience in computer software, hardware and operating systems, computer diagnostic and repair techniques, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of computer issues. Willingness to solve complicated problems and see projects through to completion. Analytical skills to study problems and record and identify solutions. Team-oriented attitude to help other colleagues and departments with technical problems. Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to manage time and effectively prioritize numerous projects at one time. Attends appropriate continuing education workshops and conferences. Required to read professional journals to remain abreast of development in profession.
