Register today for Public and Academic Libraries: Effective Management of Discus Databases!  Is your institution fully maximizing its use of the Discus collection of statewide resources? Public and academic libraries can customize and manage these resources in a variety of ways to better integrate them into their collections and services. Attend this important session to get more value from the databases provided to your library by Discus.

Libraries are strongly encouraged to send representative(s) to this training, particularly individuals who serve in the Discus roles of Primary Contact and/or Technical Contact. If your institution wants to retrieve and report electronic resource usage statistics or use customization options in the databases, this workshop is vital and necessary. This session is offered infrequently and was last conducted in 2012. It is an intense all-day workshop.

The session is NOT held in a computer lab, but wireless Internet access is available. Participants may bring their own devices, if desired. Access to a laptop or tablet is not essential, but may provide a more effective training experience. If you serve as the Discus Primary Contact at your institution and wish to bring a device in order to have a hands-on experience, also bring your unique login credentials that permit access to the admin/usage portals of the Discus vendors. If you need assistance with establishing login credentials prior to this workshop, please contact the Discus Office: discusoffice@statelibrary.sc.gov.

FOR: Staff of public libraries and college/university libraries who coordinate and manage Discus resources for their institutions
