More Nursing and Health Resources for State Employees

More bibliographic resources in nursing, medicine and health have been added to the online databases for state employees.  Using your card number you can access these databases from work or home.  The databases increase the quality and quantity of fulltext information for employees who need medical and health information beyond the consumer level.
New databases are:

·        CINAHL Plus with Full Text

A comprehensive nursing and allied health research database, providing full text for more than 620 journals indexed in CINAHL.  Contains the full text for many of the most used journals in the  CINAHL index - with no embargo. The database also provides full text for 218 books/monographs. Some full text coverage dates back to 1937.

·        Liebert Online

This service delivers electronic access to peer-reviewed journals published by Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. Includes over 28,000 full text papers from more than 55 authoritative journals in the areas of biotechnology, biomedical research/life sciences, clinical medicine and surgery, and law.

·        Nursing Collection II: Lippincott Premier Nursing Journals (via OVID)

Full text of over 20 professional nursing journals published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, including Cancer Nursing, AJN: American Journal of Nursing, Journal for Nurses in Staff Development, and JONA: Journal of Nursing Administration.

·        Nursing Resource Center

Designed for nursing students, the Nursing Resource Center brings together in an easy-to-use interface disease and drug overviews, care plans, relevant journal results and animated anatomy and physiology diagrams to complement the core encyclopedia texts. The information is written in accessible language for students completing class

·        ProQuest Nursing & Allied Health Source

Provides users with reliable healthcare information covering nursing, allied health, alternative and complementary medicine, and much more. The database is designed to meet the needs of researchers at healthcare facilities as well as nursing and allied health programs at academic institutions. Provides abstracting and indexing for more than 700 titles, with over 580 titles in full-text.

            We also offer 20 additional health and medical related databases and electronic encyclopedias.
