Uncovering Privilege and Addressing Microaggressions

The South Carolina State Library has purchased access for South Carolina library staff members to the upcoming Uncovering Privilege and Addressing Microaggressions webinar offered by the American Library Association Office for Diversity, Literacy and Outreach Services. South Carolina library staff members may register online to attend this webinar at the ALA Office for Diversity, Literacy & Outreach Services registration page.

Description:

  • This webinar will examine the notion of privilege, including how privilege and implicit or unconscious bias create barriers for our patrons, staff, and community and how these barriers and interactions can play out in microaggressions. The webinar will also explore how to identify and begin to address microaggressions.
