Sandy Knowles, Director of Talking Book Services
Sandy Knowles is the Director of Talking Book Services for the South Carolina State Library. She has been working in the library field for over 30 years. Her first professional job was at the Fort Jackson Post Library in Columbia, SC. All together she has worked for over 23 years in public libraries (Ft. Jackson, Anderson County, SC, Henderson County, NC and Norfolk Va.) and 8.5 years in medical libraries (Patrick Harris Psychiatric Hospital and the University of South Carolina School of Medicine). She received a Bachelor of Arts in English/Art History and a Masters degree in Library Science from the University of South Carolina. She has received awards from the Medical Library Association and the North Carolina Directors Association. She has been a reviewer for Library Journal for over 20 years and currently reviews mysteries and art books.
