Join us as an Adult Services Librarian I at the Headquarters Library and play a key role in shaping community engagement. In this dynamic position, you'll deliver library services and interact with patrons at the Adult Services Desk. You'll have the chance to channel your creativity into impactful community programs and provide tailored instruction to address diverse interests and needs. Additionally, you’ll train the public in using library resources and equipment. This role also offers the opportunity to develop your leadership skills by serving as Team Lead in the branch manager’s absence.
Trains the public in the use of library resources and equipment, including online catalog and databases.
Resolves intermediate customer complaints; refers more complex issues to branch manager or Adult Services Manager.
Knows, enforces, and interprets rules governing the use of the library. Performs intermediate troubleshooting of library equipment.
Provides in-depth readers’ advisory services. Staffs the online chat reference as assigned.
Prepares, markets, presents, and evaluates programming for adult and all-ages audiences, including book clubs and classes on computer skills for the public.
Participates in publicity and marketing of library resources and events, including writing library related columns in local publications.
Participates in collection maintenance
Implements and evaluates outreach to community groups and organizations.
