Board names interim leader for State Library

The South Carolina State Library Board has appointed Dr. Curtis Rogers, Director of the Division of Statewide Library Services, as the interim director of the State Library.

Rogers takes the helm Oct. 21 and will serve until a new director is selected and on the job, according to B.G. Stephens, chairman of the State Library Board.

The board is looking for a new director to replace Patti J. Butcher, who leaves the library Oct. 20 to return to her home state of Kansas.

Butcher led the South Carolina State Library for a year and has accepted a job with the Kansas State Library.
