Focus on Documents

2011 notable documents of South Carolina and of Federal Government agencies are featured in a new display at the State Library. The Library recognized the 10 documents and websites of South Carolina in a ceremony on May 7 and the American Library Association and Library Journal announced the Notable Federal and State Documents of 2011 on May 16, 2012.

South Carolina documents were chosen to represent items of long-standing excellence or of exceptional effort to present the essence of the state and its people in a pleasing, extraordinary way. Three websites that have developed or changed over the year were also selected. Federal documents were chosen by the Government Documents Round Table of ALA to promote awareness and acquisition of these excellent sources of information by libraries and use by library patrons. Included in the display at the State Library are photos of the Notable Documents program on May 7.
