Honda of South Carolina Contributes $25,000 In Support Of New Timmonsville Library

A new library in Timmonsville to expand services and programs.

Florence, SC - When the Florence County Library System broke ground for a new Timmonsville branch library on May 16th it was an exciting time with over 100 people from the community attending.  The current branch library has only two public Internet computers, no meeting room space and limited operating hours.

A new 6,500 square foot branch library in Timmonsville will include 18 public Internet computers, wireless Internet access, a 65 seat meeting room space with digital projector and sound system, a children’s section, a reading area, professional library staff, approximately 10,000 books, CD’s & DVD’s and expanded operating hours.

This new library facility will allow expanded children’s and adult programming, provide opportunities for school children to use computers for homework after school hours, allow job seekers to use computers for resume writing and job search, have meeting room space available for community meetings and forums, and provide quality library materials for the community.

“Honda of South Carolina is well known for its community support and this generous gift will benefit everyone in the community who uses the new library.  We look forward to continuing a great relationship between Honda, Florence County Library System and the Timmonsville community as we plan and build this new facility,” stated Florence County Library Director Ray McBride.
