National library Week Celebrations at the Allendale Hampton Jasper Regional Library System

AHJ Regional Library System will help celebrate National Library Week, April 15-21 with many events ranging from night time story hours to Furman Professor Stephanie Mitchem who will speak on “African American Culture”.

Allendale County Library
  • Tuesday, April 17th @6 p.m.  Night time story hour.  Bring your children in their pajamas for stories and songs before bed.
  • Thursday, April 19th @ 4 p.m.  Internet Safety for Teens.  The TAG will sponsor a discussion on staying safe and having fun on the internet.

Estill Public Library
  • Tuesday, April 17th @  The Mayor, Thomas Owens, will visit the library
  • Wednesday, April 18th @  Teens have fun and play games at the Estill Public Library with Mr. B. Sanders
  • Check with Branch Manager for times.
  • Thursday, April 19th @ 1:40 p.m. Estill Elementary School 4th graders  “My Library” 

Hampton County Library
  • Monday, April 16th.  @7 p.m. Furman Professor Stephanie Mitchem will speak on “African American Culture” in the Hampton County Library.  This program is sponsored by The Humanities CouncilSC, a state program of the National Endowment for the Humanities; inspiring, engaging and enriching South Carolinians with programs on literature, history, culture and heritage  
  • Tuesday, April 17th. 6-8 p.m. Book signing and Open House
  • Margaret Brown will be signing her new book, A Turn of Events,  in the Hampton County Library.  Refreshments will be served in the renovated Library Annex.
  • Thursday, April 19th @ 6 p.m.  “The Three Goats Gruff,” by Porkchop Productions.  An interactive play for the children.
  • Saturday, April 21st. @ 2 p.m. artist Michael P. White will help children draw and have fun.  Everyone will create a work of art to take home.
