Ed Madden is a poet, activist, and former Director of Women's and Gender Studies at the University of South Carolina. He is also the Columbia City Poet Laureate and author of four books of poetry–Signals, which won the 2007 SC Poetry Book Prize; Prodigal: Variations; Nest; and Ark.
