The South Carolina State Library is pleased to announce the selection of the most notable South Carolina state government documents of 2010. The selection is announced annually on or near Freedom of Information Day, March 16, the birthday of President James Madison, an early proponent of citizen access to government information.
Awards were presented to the winning agencies by Chris Yates and Elaine Sandberg of the State Library at a morning ceremony on March 16. "As the Governor emphasizes transparency in South Carolina state government, we commend these agencies for their commitment to providing access to their information either digitally or in print through these quality publications." said Yates.
Winning documents were selected by a group of state documents depository librarians from around the state and by staff at the South Carolina State Library. All documents are available to view at the State Library.
