South Carolina Library Association Announces 2013 Poster Session Winners

The South Carolina Library Association (SCLA) announced the winners of two poster session competitions held at the 2013 SCLA/SELA (Southeastern Library Association) joint conference in Greenville, SC.

Winner of the Viewer's Choice Award -- Small Budget, Big Impact, presented by Amy Schofield, director of the Kershaw County Library and Anna Dis Sveinbjornsdottir, interior designer with CDA Architects of Columbia, SC. With limited budget for a much needed update, the Kershaw County Library hired CDA Architects to assess their Camden branch library to receive a "great impact for every penny spent."

Winner of the Student Spotlight Competition -- What Makes This Search Difficult? A Task Difficulty Study presented by Caitlin Rebekah Creel and Dr. Jignjing Liu, University of South Carolina School of Library and Information Science. This eight person study was conducted to answer questions related to online information searching and its difficulties.

Winning poster session presenters will receive a paid membership in the South Carolina Library Association for 2014.

All Student Spotlight Participants will receive a paid membership in the Southeastern Library Association for 2014.
