State Library Adds Instant Messaging

State employees, staff members at other libraries, and the general public can now contact the Information Desk at the State Library using Instant Messaging (IM). The library’s username is scslreference, on both AIM and Yahoo Messenger.

State Library patrons can let their fingers do the talking when it comes to asking questions, requesting books or renewing checked out materials.

State employees, staff members at other libraries, and the general public can now contact the Information Desk at the State Library using Instant Messaging (IM). The library’s username is scslreference, on both AIM and Yahoo Messenger.

Librarians are available to answer reference questions during the regular hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except state holidays. The Information Desk also can be reached by telephone at (803) 734-8026, e-mail at reference@statelibrary.sc.gov, or fax at (803) 734-4757.
