Understanding Our Rivers Programs Offered at Lexington County Library

understanding our rivers flier

Last October our state experienced record amounts of rainfall and widespread flooding. While our local rivers provide us with vast recreational and economic opportunities, it is important to understand their natural history. With this in mind, the Lexington County Library is hosting a book-to-action project — Understanding Our Rivers — centered around the book My Paddle to the Sea by John Lane. Throughout April, we’ll present programs for both children and adults that focus on the important role trees play in protecting our watersheds. This is where the action begins — we’ll distribute tree seedlings for you to plant in the community. Our hope for this project is to encourage a community discussion about the complex relationship we have with our environment.
