Census.gov now has statistics for smaller areas

The 2011-2013 American Community Survey has annual demographic, socio-economic and housing characteristics for congressional districts and geographic areas of 20,000 or more residents.  These new surveys also allow for “comparison tables” to show previous three-year data for the geographic area.  To see comparison profiles for a specific area with a population of 20,000 or more go to American Factfinder, enter a geography name in the tan “state, county or place (optional)” box, and click on one of the available comparison profile tables listed.  For help using these tables, contact the Information Services librarians at the State Library at 803-734-8026 or email us at reference@statelibrary.sc.gov.
