Please join us on December 10, 2020, at 7:00 p.m., for a virtual book talk with acclaimed photographer Cecil J. Williams who is well known for his documentation of many important events of the Civil Rights Movement that took place in South Carolina. Mr. Williams will discuss his book Unforgettable: 1950-1970: celebrating a time of life hope and bravery that is the inspiration for the Unforgettable traveling exhibit currently on display at the Sumter County Museum. Join us at the next installment of the Speaker at the Center with Author Patricia Brandon where she will discuss her historical fiction novel, "Rise of the Pale Moon." Set against the backdrop of the Revolutionary War era in coastal South Carolina, Rise of the Pale Moon weaves a compelling tale of three young women from distinct backgrounds: an indentured servant from London, a chattel slave raised on the Montague Hall plantation, and a Catawba Indian captured by the Cherokee and traded into slavery.
