POSITION: Videographer and Social Media Manager

FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITY
This 40-hour-per week full-time employee reports to the Library Director. Responsibilities include the following work:
· Video production, including filming and editing
· Digital video instruction to diverse teens and adults
· Special projects related to digital video production, especially on local history and culture
· Other related duties including some social media management and website updating
This job functions as the digital video scribe for the community. It requires the ability to interact well with a broad cross-section of the populace while employing expert knowledge of digital video production skills. Such work will involve also the ability to interview people well while creating results ranging from PSAs to documentary compilations. Video and digital arts work necessitates having skills in studio and portable video production along with the ability to share that knowledge with teens and adults.
The person should also be able to learn library website updating from the county PIO or other assigned mentor. In addition, the management and development of social media outlets for the library system will be a secondary component.
As for special digital projects, personal attributes of this individual should include the ability to lead and to interact with project teams in the following ways: receive and give constructive criticism; communicate to ensure the program vision is fulfilled; collaborate to create innovative ideas for new concepts or existing program issues; and document clearly ideas, concepts, and technical details.
In general, this employee must be a serious, dependable, detailed-oriented self-starter able to handle multiple tasks while adhering strictly to assigned work schedules and productivity expectations. This person must also be able to convey to young people and adults a passionate and enthusiastic attitude about work functions and responsibilities.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
· Experience and understanding of non-linear video editing software (such as Adobe Premiere or DaVinci Resolve) is essential
· Experience and understanding of digital video camera operation including fully manual exposure, WB, frame rate, interchangeable lenses, and so forth
· Experience and ability to capture clean audio in a variety of unpredictable environments
· Knowledge of other elements of video production such as lighting, sound design, music selection, etc.
· Knowledge and experience with graphic design, including software such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, or Canva
· Knowledge of best practices for social media platforms and online resources
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Experience with Adobe After Effects is a plus.
· FAA Certified Small UAV Pilot License is a plus.
· Teaching Experience is a plus.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree with demonstrated experience and knowledge in digital video production preferred along with the ability to work well with diverse people, from teens to adults. Good written and spoken English skills along with Microsoft Office Suite familiarity are expected competencies. Being able to lift equipment and other materials weighing up to 40 pounds is necessary. This employee must also have a valid driver’s license.
