State Library to Host Investor Education Seminar

The South Carolina Attorney General's Office and the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs have partnered with the South Carolina State Library to provide an investor education and protection seminar on investment fraud.

The Securities Division of the South Carolina Attorney General's Office sees investors lose their money to fraud on a daily basis. Investment fraud costs its victims an estimated 2.9 billion dollars every year. The goal of providing these seminars is to educate investors and inform them of the warning signs of fraud in order to prevent the fraud before it occurs and people lose significant amounts of money.

Please join us from 10:00 am to noon on Friday, September 7th at the South Carolina State Library for a lunch and learn seminar. After presentations from the South Carolina Attorney General's Office and the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs, box lunches will be served. Please call now to reserve your space at (803) 734-5621.

The event is funded by a grant from the Investor Protection Trust (IPT). The IPT is a nonprofit organization devoted to investor education. Since 1993 the IPT has worked with the States to provide the independent, objective investor education needed by all Americans to make informed investment decisions.
