This month we feature the state government document, Roadway design manual: connecting people and places, by the South Carolina Department of Transportation. This 798 page manual has been developed to provide uniform design practices for Department and consultant personnel preparing plans for projects on the state-owned system. A SCDOT task force under the direction of the Preconstruction Support Section developed the manual with assistance from the engineering consultant firm of Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc., and their subconsultant, Michael Baker International.

The South Carolina Digital State Documents Depository provides access to state agencies' publications. These publications provide citizens with crucial information about state government, including statistics, annual accountability reports, and data on a wide variety of topics related to the state. The April 2021 list of new South Carolina State Documents is now available.

Author Patricia Brandon and "Rise of the Pale Moon"

February 11, 2026, 5:30 PM

Join us at the next installment of the Speaker at the Center with Author Patricia Brandon where she will discuss her historical fiction novel, "Rise of the Pale Moon." Set against the backdrop of the Revolutionary War era in coastal South Carolina, Rise of the Pale Moon weaves a compelling tale of three young women from distinct backgrounds: an indentured servant from London, a chattel slave raised on the Montague Hall plantation, and a Catawba Indian captured by the Cherokee and traded into slavery.
