Dr. James Goff, author of Close Harmony: a history of Southern gospel (UNC Press, 2002) and professor of history at Appalachian State University, will emcee and lecture on the history of religious music in the United States. Choirs and music groups from the Oconee County area will perform different genres of religious music to illustrate Dr. Goff's remarks.
