Come Garden with Us This Spring at the Dorchester County Library

The Dorchester County Library in St. George and in Summerville will be offering a variety of educational and entertaining programs on gardening this spring.

The Secret Garden Party will take place on March 21 at both branches from 11:00 to 1:00pm.  This program, for school-aged children, includes crafts, snacks and indoor gardening activities. Space is limited and registration begins March 9.

The Summerville Branch will host Grounds Enhancement Workdays in which volunteers of all ages assist with the library’s spring gardening projects. Volunteering is a great opportunity for students or scouts at least 10 years old to earn community service hours. Projects include pruning, clearing beds, pulling plants and laying stones for walkways.

The libraries will also host garden-themed storytimes and perennial gardening workshops for children and sponsor guest speakers for adult programs. Check our website at www.dcl.lib.sc.us for dates and times.

Springtime at the Dorchester County Library is the perfect opportunity to get involved in gardening and a great way to support the library.
