People doing business with the State Legislature or state agencies need to know who they meet or pass by in the State House. The South Carolina Legislative Manual is an annual publication of the House of Representatives designed to assist the General Assembly members in their activities during the legislative season. Once "pocket sized" so the members would have quick access to names of Representatives and Senators, directors of agencies, House Rules, portions of the Constitution appropriate for legislative service, and, of course the name and biography of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor, the book is now almost 600 pages and includes photos of individuals and color photographs of the several emblems and symbols. The current manual (2013) is available online where it can also be purchased. Are you doing research and looking for old copies? The South Carolina State Library has the manual going back to 1918.
