Lemira Elementary Percussion Ensemble

Please join us for a free, live concert as we welcome the Lemira Elementary Percussion Ensemble to the SC State Library on Friday, December 8 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The State Library is honored to host this enthusiastic and talented group of students from Lemira Elementary School in Sumter, SC. This is a free event and open to the public. Created from a grant to enhance the musical curriculum and to promote cultural awareness of other countries, students from Lemira Elementary are talented in various musical styles including classical, Taiko, Latin American, Jazz, drumline, and utilize unique instruments such as boomwhackers, pipes, buckets, and trash cans. The ensemble has performed since 1999, both nationally and throughout the state at numerous festivals and cultural events.
