LSTA Grants

The South Carolina State Library (SCSL) is designated as the State Library Administrative Agency (SLAA) of South Carolina for the receipt and disbursement of federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS)

Libraries are invited to apply for funding that supports a new or improved program or service that solves a specific problem or meets an identified need of the library and its patrons. The LSTA grant programs allow libraries to fund projects that have a user-focused need statement, defined outcomes, timelines with actions spread out over the funding period, and an evaluation that measures outcomes.

LSTA Funding Management, Resources, and Documents

In each Federal fiscal year, a new grant program is designed to meet the needs of South Carolina citizens through programs delivered by the State Library and public libraries. Visit the LSTA section for more information and to apply.

South Carolina’s LSTA Five Year Plan

Projects must support the goals from South Carolina’s LSTA Five Year Plan. Each goal is based on identified needs, strives toward excellence and equity in South Carolina’s libraries, and is related to one or more of the LSTA priorities.
