Library Grants & Funding

In South Carolina, public libraries are committed to providing opportunities for learning experiences that educate and inspire people throughout their lifetime.

Americans strongly value the role of public libraries in their communities, both for providing access to materials and resources and for promoting literacy and improving the overall quality of life. Most Americans say they have only had positive experiences at public libraries. People of all ages and backgrounds use and appreciate a range of library resources and services.

LSTA Grants

State Aid & Lottery Funding

State aid provides additional funding for public libraries to assist them in providing basic levels of service to South Carolina citizens. Funds may be used for salaries, collections and some operating expenses.

E-Rate Funding

The Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) Schools and Libraries program, also known as the E-rate program, makes telecommunications and information services more affordable for schools and libraries in America.
