John Nelson will discuss plant identification, offer hands-on learning opportunities
Calling all nature-lovers! Join us on Friday, January 20, from noon-1:00 p.m. at the South Carolina State Library as we learn about wintertime botany with John Nelson, Curator of the A. C. Moore Herbarium.
The winner of the 2017 Journalism Contest #InclusionWorks receives a four-year scholarship to the South Carolina state-supported institution of his or her choice provided, of course, that the winner is otherwise qualified.

Monday’s ribbon cutting ceremony celebrated the official opening of the Young Learner’s Toolbox Learning Lab, a section of the Moncks Corner Library that features multi-sensory toys, learning kits, and technology designed to encourage children to learn while they play. Attendees of the ribbon cutting included; County Supervisor William Peagler, Councilmen Kenneth Gunn, Joshua Whitley, Dennis Fish, and Caldwell Pinckney, as well as members from the Berkeley County School District, South Carolina State Library, and the Town of Moncks Corner.
The South Carolina State Library will be closed for the Christmas holiday on Friday, December 23, Monday, December 26, and Tuesday, December 27. We will also be closed for New Years on Monday, January 2. Happy Holidays!
