USC Libraries offer free advice on recovering treasures from flood damage

book preservation

The University of South Carolina Libraries are offering free advice to those affected by the flood to help stop further deterioration and start the recovery process for damaged books, papers, films, photographs and memorabilia. Librarians and archivists from UofSC are partnering with other state library and archive officials to provide basic information necessary to potentially save damaged family treasures. No registration required.

Interested community members are invited to stop by for advice on Thursday, October 15 between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on the Russell House Patio, 1400 Greene Street in Columbia.  Parking is available in the Bull Street garage behind the Russell House.  For more information, contact Tucker Taylor at tucky@mailbox.sc.edu or Lydia Pappas at pappasl@mailbox.sc.edu or call (803) 777-3145.
