York County Library Announces 2015 Employee of the Year

Mike Hyde

Mike Hyde has been named the York County Library’s Employee of the Year for 2015. The building superintendent for all five libraries and the bookmobile in the York County system, Mike’s personal commitment to quality is obvious in everything he does. He consistently “goes the extra mile,” even coming in to work on days off to check the libraries during inclement weather. His abilities and contributions are an important key to the success of the library.

Mike began working for the York County Library system 8 years ago in a part-time capacity and the director quickly saw the need to put his expertise to work on a full-time basis. Through his knowledge of the building trades, he has saved the library thousands of dollars during his tenure.

Mike and his wife Ginger Sawyer, the Children’s Department manager at the Main Library, are parents to a second grade daughter, Tess, and residents of York, SC.
