Author Rita Williams-Garcia and Illustrator Sophie Blackall to attend StoryfestSC

The South Carolina State Library is proud to announce that award-winning authors/illustrators Rita Williams-Garcia and Sophie Blackall will be featured at StoryfestSC 2017-the state's summer reading kick-off event! StoryfestSC, which will be held on June 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., exposes families to children's authors and the art of storytelling to foster an excitement for reading. StoryfestSC will be held at the SC State Museum and is free to the public. All South Carolina libraries participate in a coordinated summer reading program and this year's theme is "Build a Better World." Events include presentations and book signings by each author, a Readers' Theater, storytelling for all ages, crafts, face painting, and visits from literacy friends Cocky & the Clemson Tiger. To learn more about StoryfestSC visit the SCSL website.
