Clemson Libraries seek a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and collaborative Data Services Librarian to lead the Libraries’ research data services. The Data Services Librarian will play a key role in continuing and expanding the Libraries’ research data services that will further support Clemson’s strategic priority to double research by 2035. The Data Services Librarian will support faculty, researchers, and students in the discovery, use, organization, curation, preservation, and visualization of data. The Data Services Librarian will cultivate meaningful partnerships with campus groups including the Division of Research, Clemson Computing & Information Technology, and the Graduate School. This position requires a high degree of collaborative leadership and initiative and will be critical to the Libraries’ strategic growth as an R1 institution. Clemson Libraries faculty are members of the academic community, with responsibilities in the areas of librarianship, scholarship, and service.
Qualified candidates must have an ALA-accredited graduate degree in librarianship or other relevant graduate degree, as deemed appropriate by the Libraries, 1-2 years of previous experience providing research data services, knowledge of data-related resources, and a strong understanding of research data management principles, data curation practices, and data lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience providing research data services, familiarity with software and tools for data analysis and visualization, previous management/supervisory experience, and familiarity working with new funding agency requirements.
