Colleton County is accepting applications/resumes from qualified individuals for the position of Children’s Librarian with the Colleton County Memorial Library. The successful candidate will under limited supervision, plan, coordinate, and conduct children’s services throughout the library system in conformity with the policies established by the Library Board of Trustees and the County Librarian. Will perform managerial duties related to children’s services, outreach programs and special activities.
Will also participate in short and long range planning for children and general library services; coordinate activities with other library staff and community groups; and assist patrons in the selection and use of library materials and electronic resources.
A Master’s Degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited college or university preferred and three to five years of public library experience. A pre- employment drug screen and a satisfactory background check also required.
