A Store at Every Crossroads

Visit the South Carolina State Library from May 1 to May 31, 2024 to see A Store at Every Crossroads: Documenting the Stories of South Carolina’s Jewish Merchants, part of Jewish-American Heritage month.

This is an important traveling exhibition developed in partnership between the South Carolina State Museum and the Jewish Historical Society of South Carolina. This exhibition is part of The Jewish Merchant Project, which documents the experiences of Jewish merchants in the state.

Join us at our next Speaker at the Center series to celebrate National Poetry Month with readings from the new poetry anthology, "Coast Lines," edited by Daniel Cross Turner and Libby Bernardin. Lovely inside and out, this anthology features over 140 works by 50 poets exploring the manifold beauty and diversity of the South Carolina coastal plain, accompanied by over 50 stunning photographs of the region’s distinctive ecologies and wildlife by photographer Philip Wilkinson.
