Did you know that cooperative agricultural extension service is over 100 years old? 2014 marks the 100th anniversary of the Smith-Lever Act, which formalized the Cooperative Extension Service, a state-by-state national network of educators who extend university-based knowledge to the public. The South Carolina State Library's Center for the Book has selected All Around Town, by Dinah Johnson, to represent South Carolina at the 2014 National Book Festival in Washington, DC. The book is the state's selection for the National Book Festival's "Discover Great Places Through Reading Map".
