The Assistant Director plays a vital role in supporting the Library Director in the management, supervision, and administration of the library to provide maximum services to library patrons in accordance with library policy. This role involves overseeing daily library functions, personnel management, and public service departments under the guidance of the Library Director. The Assistant Director works alongside the Library Director and Administrative Team in planning and implementing library services, budgeting, programming, and developing policy proposals for the Library Board of Trustees.
Flexibility, project management, process management, supervision, communication, motivation, innovation and a passion for public libraries are key skills needed to be successful in this position. The ideal candidate for this role will have a positive work ethic, strong skills in personnel management, and have experience in project management.
Full-Time; Salary Range ($85,923 - $111,683)
Requires Master of Library Science or Library and Information Science (MLIS).
Over four years and up to and including eight years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
