Job Purpose:
The Information Services Librarian connects library users to research resources through in-person and online group instruction as well as individual consultation sessions.
Job Duties:
• Provides in-person and online research consultation services to students and faculty, including assistance with locating open educational resources (OER).
• Provides information literacy skill building through carefully crafted classroom instruction, online tutorials, and web guides.
• Ensures both campus and online learners have access to library resources, instruction, and services.
• Promotes, schedules, and assesses library instruction activities.
• Collection development and maintenance in assigned areas.
• Assists with maintenance of library online platforms, tools, and spaces.
• Serves on faculty and university committees.
Qualifications
• Master’s level degree in library science/ library information science from an accredited institution and related work experience.
• Knowledge of information literacy pedagogical practices that map to the ACRL Framework.
Preferred qualifications:
• Previous work in an academic library setting.
• Experience using game-based and/or other immersive experiences to enhance delivery of information literacy instruction.
• Experience using integrated library systems (Alma or other ILS), Springshare’s LibApps products, and discovery tools (Primo or comparable system).
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS.
