The Humanities CouncilSC, in partnership with the Florence County Library System, South Carolina Arts Commission, South Carolina Department of Archives and History, and South Carolina State Library, is hosting a FREE grants writing workshop, and staff and volunteers of all South Carolina cultural organizations and nonprofit agencies are invited to attend. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, 9:45 a.m. -- 12:30 p.m. at the Florence County Library in Florence, SC.
This Grants Writing Workshop for Community Cultural Projects is specifically geared for cultural organizations (arts centers, libraries, historical societies, community theaters, etc.); however, other nonprofits are welcome to attend.
Dr. Randy Akers, Executive Director of The Humanities CouncilSC, said: "The Humanities CouncilSC is fortunate that it still has grant monies available for quality community-based public humanities programs. We know that resources are tight, and we must partner with other organizations of similar mission in order to use our funds to fullest potential. Workshops like the one in Florence are intended to provide citizens with access to funding sources, information, and resources that will give them a chance to raise necessary funds."
Though the workshop is free and open to the public, pre-registration is required. Pre-register on The Humanities CouncilSC's website here: http://schumanities.org/grants/workshop/workshopform. More information will be provided to registered participants.
